| Artist`s Statement My work relates to my earlier studies in Philosophy and Literature as well as to the differnet religions that I have tried to understand and still think about and question. My creative motivation begins with an exploration of relationships in everyday life. INTERDEPENDENT I seek to understand how we and the objects around us are related to one another- how within those relationships there is both independence and dependence, need and help. I don't look for answers but I like to see the contrast, harmony and emotions through these relationships and the way that the results are not always what we expect. As a creator and maker, I really enjoy that I make work that reflects who I am - imbued with my thoughts and meaning and that they then become independent objects that go on to be owned and appreciated by someone else. |
